What's new in 2.0
Version 2.0 is the first release after 1.2.1, and a large one: LivingRoom is now a full inventory and order system for sellers on Walmart and other marketplaces, and for their own direct customers.
2.0 is installed fresh. It does not open the data of version 1.2.1. If 1.2.1 is on your PC, 2.0 installs
beside it as a separate program, with its own Start-menu shortcut (the new teal LivingRoom icon), its own entry
in Windows Settings › Apps and its own data folder (%APPDATA%\LivingRoom): set 2.0 up as a new installation (see
Chapter 2).
1.2.1 and its data stay as they are until you uninstall 1.2.1 yourself (Windows Settings › Apps); uninstalling it
leaves its data folder on the PC too. Later updates of 2.0 install over 2.0 as usual and keep your data (see
How to install an update).
Sell to your own customers
- Customers with contacts, payment terms, tax exemption, credit limits and their own prices.
- Customer orders (Customers › Orders) from draft to shipped, with backorders, packing slips, invoices, payments and an AR aging report. Shipped orders are sales on the new channel Direct / Wholesale in every report.
- Profit per customer.
See Chapter 13.
Pay your vendors
- Vendor bills from vendors and prep centers / 3PLs, linked to receipts, invoices and expenses, with payments, an aging report (the Payables tab), a three-way match warning and due dates in the cash flow.
- QuickBooks gets one Bill per vendor bill, and a Bill already in QuickBooks is never edited.
Control your stock
- Available stock (on hand − held − reserved) on every stock screen; confirmed orders reserve their units.
- Transfers in transit between warehouses: ship, then receive or cancel.
- Case packs on purchase orders, reorder suggestions in whole cases, case labels and case scans.
- Lot history: one lot's life from receipt to sale.
- Period close (Settings › Period Close) and the value as of a date (Reports › Value as of a Date).
Marketplaces, kits and advertising
Shopify: the Orders and Shopify Payments exports imported from files (Beta); the sales tax a refund gives back is kept out of the refund's cost; a read-only Shopify connection is built and coming soon. See Chapter 7.
WFS claims: a paste-ready Seller Center case per lost, damaged or short-received discrepancy, its status, and reimbursements matched to it.
Kitting: labour / packaging cost per kit, and un-kitting at the components' original cost.
Amazon shipments: each shipment of an order in Amazon's Fulfilled Shipments report is its own line, so a shipment that comes in a later file is imported too, and the settlement puts its fees on its own units. See Chapter 7.
Ad spend in your profit: Walmart Connect and Amazon Ads report imports (Beta), with ACoS and TACoS. Reports › Profitability shows an Ad spend card, so the cards add up to net profit, and By Product shows Ad spend, ACoS and TACoS columns.
Walmart's payment report (Beta) on Settlement Import: Walmart's real commission and every fee of each order, and a payout check that ties your figures to what Walmart paid, to the cent. On orders you ship yourself, the shipping Walmart pays you counts as shipping income. See Chapter 7.
Fees typed on a manual order count as the order's fees: they lower its profit and margin in every report. Manual orders saved before are corrected at the first start; one in a closed period is left as it is and listed in the Activity Log (reopen the period and save the order again to add its fees).
Shipping income is counted as revenue on every import, and money is added up exactly to the cent everywhere.
The marketplace commission is always in your profit: each unit sold on a marketplace carries an estimate until its real commission is imported, then the real one only. Without a fee structure the item's own rate or a standard rate is used, and the screens say so. See Chapter 8. A product's Fee Impact card shows the commission on its own line and the estimate below the table, and Reports › Profitability's By Product and By Vendor tables have a Marketplace commission column.
Your phone and your office
- The phone companion: the Dashboard, profit per product and stock lookup on a phone on your office network (off until an Admin switches it on). Its last 30 days show the same net profit as the desktop Dashboard.
- The first start asks whether this PC keeps the data or connects to an office server.
Plans and your subscription
- Three plans - Standard, Professional and Enterprise - each monthly, yearly or lifetime.
- A monthly plan renews by itself; Manage subscription opens the payment portal (card, invoices, cancellation) and Change plan moves to another plan. See Chapter 2.
- Cancel subscription opens the cancel page in one step, in every license state.
- Change plan shows the new plan's renewal terms next to a box you tick before Confirm.
- E-mails confirm the renewal terms after the first payment and remind you before renewals (two before each yearly renewal, one a year for a monthly plan) and before a trial ends.
Spelling, support sessions, the agreement and e-mail
- Spelling is checked as you type (English, US), on your PC: right-click an underlined word for suggestions.
- Support sessions are shown to your Admins: after one, a bar says when it started and how long it lasted, and the License page lists them all (Chapter 11).
- The license agreement is shown and accepted in the setup wizard; when an update changes it, an Admin accepts the new text once.
- E-mail to your mail server checks the server's certificate before anything is sent.
