In short (not part of the policy)
- 30-day money-back guarantee on the first payment of a new License: Monthly, Yearly or Lifetime. No reason needed.
- 14 days after each renewal charge, you can ask for that renewal payment back.
- Ask at paddle.net (or through the link in your Paddle receipt) or e-mail us; for a refund of a plan upgrade, we recommend e-mailing us (section 4.1). Paddle, our Merchant of Record, pays the refund to the card or account you paid with.
- A refund ends the License it paid for and its Subscription: the Software turns read-only (a refunded upgrade moves you back to your previous Plan instead). We never delete your data when a License ends.
- Your rights under the law, Paddle's Buyer Terms and Paddle's Refund Policy stay in place.
LivingRoom Refund Policy Draft 2 of 2026-10-25 - not yet in effect
This Refund Policy is published by Point of the Mountain Software LLC, a Utah limited liability company ("Company", "we", "us", "our"), for its LivingRoom software ("Software"). It is part of our Terms of Service. Words with capital letters have the meaning given in our End User License Agreement ("EULA") and our Terms of Service.
You can try the Software free for 30 days before you buy (ask us for a Trial Key; a Trial costs nothing and never turns into a paid License). Every new License then comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
1. Who handles refunds
When you buy or renew a License, you buy it from Paddle, our online reseller and Merchant of Record (Terms of Service section 2). When you request a Trial, apply for the New Business discount, contact our support or use our Website, your contract is with the Company. The Company licenses the Software under the EULA. Paddle takes your payment and pays every refund. Point of the Mountain Software LLC decides refund requests made to us under this policy and asks Paddle to pay them. The Paddle company that sold you your License is named on your receipt and in Paddle's Buyer Terms.
2. 30-day money-back guarantee
2.1 You can ask for a full refund within 30 days after the later of the first payment of a new License and the day we send your License Key, for any Plan and any Billing Option: Monthly, Yearly or Lifetime. You do not need to give a reason. [to be confirmed]
2.2 "A new License" means any purchase of a License that is not a renewal or a plan change (sections 3 and 4 cover those), including a second License for another PC and a License bought again after an earlier one ended. A Trial is free, so there is nothing to refund.
2.3 The same 30 days are also the remedy under the limited warranty in our EULA: if the Software does not perform substantially as its Documentation describes, you can ask for a full refund within those 30 days.
3. Renewals
3.1 Yearly and Monthly renewals. You can ask for a full refund of a renewal payment within 14 days after the renewal is charged.
3.2 Avoiding a renewal charge. A Subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. To avoid the next charge, cancel before the renewal date: in the Software (Manage subscription on the License page, for Admins), through the link in any Paddle receipt or subscription e-mail, or at paddle.net. Your License keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for. We also remind you by e-mail before renewals, as our Terms of Service describe (section 6.4). [not yet released]
3.3 After the 14 days, a renewal payment is outside this policy's refund window. Section 7 still applies, and our Terms of Service (section 15.2) say when the unused part of a prepaid period is refunded.
4. Plan changes and the New Business discount
4.1 Moving up a Plan (or from Monthly to Yearly). The extra amount charged at once for the rest of your current period can be refunded within 14 days after that charge. You can ask at paddle.net or at [email protected]; we recommend e-mailing us, so that we can move you back to your previous Plan at the same time. A refund of the upgrade payment does not end your License: it keeps working, and we move you back to your previous Plan for the rest of the period you paid for. If it is refunded without us (for example at paddle.net), we are told of it and do the same. [not yet released]
4.2 Moving down a Plan takes effect at your next renewal. Nothing is charged or refunded for the current period.
4.3 New Business discount. A refund under this policy is of the amount you actually paid. A refunded New Business purchase uses up the discount: it cannot be used again for the same business.
5. What a refund means for your License
5.1 A full refund of a License's payment ends that License (for an upgrade payment, see section 4.1 instead): its License Key is voided, and the Software switches to Read-Only Mode at its next License Check (when it starts and about every 24 hours while it runs). When a Subscription payment is refunded in full or charged back, we ask Paddle at once to cancel the Subscription, so that you are not charged again. [not yet released]
5.2 We never delete your data when a License ends. It stays on your PC. In Read-Only Mode you can still sign in, view, search, print and export your data and change your own password, and an Admin can make Backups (while a License Key is installed); you cannot add or change records.
5.3 If you buy again later, you receive a new License Key, which you can activate in the same Installation; your data stays usable. Backups made under the refunded License Key open with your Backup Password if one is set; otherwise our support can help you restore them (EULA section 8).
5.4 A refund of only part of a payment does not end the License by itself.
6. How to ask for a refund
6.1 Choose either way:
- through Paddle: go to paddle.net, find your order and request a refund, or use the link in your Paddle receipt; or
- through us: e-mail [email protected] with your order number or the e-mail address you bought with.
For an upgrade refund we recommend e-mailing us (section 4.1).
6.2 Your card or bank statement shows the charge as PADDLE.NET\* followed by our short name. [to be confirmed]
6.3 Every request made within the periods in sections 2 to 4 is granted unless section 8 applies, and we aim to answer a request e-mailed to us within 2 business days (our Support Policy). Paddle pays the refund to the payment method you used, normally within 14 days after approval; your bank may take a few more days to show it. Any sales tax or VAT charged on the payment is refunded with it.
6.4 If the Software has a technical problem, please tell us as well: we would rather fix it, and a refund does not stop us from helping.
7. Your other rights
7.1 This policy adds to your rights; it does not reduce them. You keep every right you have under the law that applies to you (for example, where you buy as a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days) and every right under Paddle's Buyer Terms and Paddle's Refund Policy. Where those rights and this policy differ, you may use whichever is better for you.
7.2 Paddle may also refund a payment under its own policy, for example where the law or the card schemes require it.
8. Fraud and abuse
Paddle's Refund Policy applies where there is evidence of fraud or refund abuse. This does not limit your rights under section 7.
9. Chargebacks
Please contact Paddle (paddle.net, or the link in your receipt) or us before you dispute a charge with your bank; a refund is usually quicker. A chargeback has the same effect as a full refund (section 5; for an upgrade payment, section 4.1), and your data stays on your PC.
10. Licenses bought from a Reseller
If you bought your License from one of our authorized Resellers, your price, payment and any refund are between you and that Reseller: please contact them. If the Software does not meet the limited warranty, EULA section 14.3 says how the refund reaches you through your Reseller. Our Reseller Agreement covers refunds of the Reseller's own purchases: before it asks for a refund of an order that contains a License Key it has already assigned to you, a Reseller must contact us so that your key can be protected, and it is responsible to you for a refund or chargeback it asked for. If your License Key is voided because the Reseller's payment for it was refunded or charged back, contact us: if you show us that you paid your Reseller for the current period, we will issue you a replacement License Key free of charge for the rest of that period (EULA section 13.4). [to be confirmed]
11. Changes to this policy
We may change this policy by publishing a new version on https://livingroomlogistics.com with its effective date. A change applies only to payments made after its effective date. A change that materially affects you is also announced by e-mail, as Terms of Service section 18 describes.
